The most common reason for a failed delivery is that the email address you entered isn't valid. If the Mailer Daemon says that the account doesn't exist, double-check the spelling of the address you entered. A single misplaced letter can be enough to cause a failed delivery. If the message continues to be bounced back to you, you might want to verify that the email address you're trying to send it to hasn't been closed or moved.
BT Yahoo Mail problems continue in Feb
For what it's worth I have had problems with Mac Mail for months. My Web host says that Mac mail seems to have a bug which changes the port numbers sporadically. It seems that the password disappears similarly (though not at the same time) and has to be re-entered. After much discussion I finally agreed to download Mozilla Thunderbird and my web host talked me through the installation.
SkMy iPad is an ipad2 and hence cannot be upgraded to iOS 10 unfortunately!I disabled and reenabled my yahoo account closed iPad and then rebooted : no result. I do have another mail account on iCloud, however I am afraid to sign out lest I stand to loose material. Could you let me know what are the side effects to signing out the iCloud mail account and then reinstalling it? Thank you for your help.
Further to my previous post, it may be of interest to know that sometimes after re-entering my email account, I can hear the ping of incoming mail. The mail icon also indicates an increased number of unread mail! This happens throughout the day, not just immediately after re-entering my acct., but the mail app continues to refuse to load.
1. Due to ongoing security issues with BT Yahoo servers, pilot migration in January from the old servers onto BT ones has now been followed by everyone else left on the old BT Yahoo based service. However the post migration period has a number of problems that has meant Helpdesk and email teams very busy.
There have been emails sent out to users on the BTYahoo system who have been migrated to the BTMail system that they have to stop using the Yahoo server settings and if they want to continue using an email client/app they will need to change their server settings to the BT ones as per this link.
Hello Roy, Sorry for continuing problems with the email. I looked at the history of the account, and there was previous problems with queued items with ntelos. com. Though this was noted 13 days ago, there still appears to be an issue with sending mail to Ntelos . I tried with a test from the server and this is message I immediately received:
I have been using Yahoo email for over 10 years. I like the classic with not paid advertising. The new was way to hard to use and made it almost impossible for me to conduct business , I want to Thank you for showing me how to get back to Classic as I was about to move everything away from yahoo which I did not want to do. I like yahoo and I like the news feed that yahoo does but if they mess with my mail again I will likely dump them.I can read the newer version, it is impossible to read when you have eye problems.
The solution I found for this problem was that I did not find the setting gear on the far right corner on yahoo mail while using google chrome browser. However, I found the gear when I log on to Yahoo mail using Microsoft Edge browser. I have not tested this using internet explorer either.
If you have Microsoft edge browser, log on the yahoo mail using the Microsoft edge browser. You can not find the setting and the gear on the right corner of the Yahoo mail. Click on the setting gear, and you will see the basic icon. Click on it and switch from the new yahoo mail to the old basic and classic yahoo mail.
Customers of Sky Broadband (BSkyB) and BT are currently experiencing problems with accessing their emails on the operators Yahoo! Mail powered platform, which appears to be preventing many users from successfully logging-in.
Sky Broadband officially migrated from their old Google (Gmail) based email platform to a new Yahoo! webmail alternative (Sky Yahoo! Mail) last year, which caused more than a few problems and created some unhappy customers (here). In fairness, mass email platform migrations rarely go smoothly. 2ff7e9595c
